You will need at least two lights, usually 3.
UVB - you will need to get either a UVB tube that spans 3/4 the length of your Viv and your beardie has to get within 4-6 inches of it (best if 4-6 from his basking site) The two best tubes to use are a Reptisun 10 or if you are in the UK an Arcadia 12.
You can also use a MVB to provide a little bit of heat and lots of UVB. The Megaray and (I believe its called) T-rex active UV heat bulbs are the best. A MVB has to be from 10-12 inches away from your basking site. I personally use a Megaray.
At this point usually you will need a higher wattage floodlight or depending on the type of Viv you have maybe just a clear household bulb to get your basking area temperature (measured with a temp gun or a thermometer with a probe) to 110-120.
Last make sure your Viv is nice a bright. BD's enjoy a very bright home.
I also suggest getting a timer so you will not have to manually turn off and on your beardies lights every day.

It will depend greatly on your enclosure. I suggest the T-Rex MVB if your tank is large enough for it. Typically with one of these bulbs you need nothing added for heat but you may want to add a white incandescent bulb to up the lighting in the tank. I use the 100watt they have a 100watt and a 160watt version of the TRex MVB.
