Here is a temporary set up for Rex, my boys' BD.  I'm using a 100 w ZooMed Power Sun UVA/UVB combo.  The basking temp is between 112 F and 118 F but the 'cool' side of the viv will be between 75 F and 80 F.  Is it true that I can raise the heat with a standard Halogen bulb without harming the BD's eyes or health for the cool side?  There are 'cool down' spots he can get to and does after basking.  In the larger (4'L x 18"W x 2'H) viv he will be able to climb at different levels to the ZooMed - closest being 6" then cooling down 'steps' every 2" or so, as well as a strip bulb (24" UV Reptisun 10.0).  Night temps (no lights at all) between 60 F and 65 F.  I've attached some pics of the temporary set up.  Feedback please.  Thanks.

Paul, a halogen is fine, in fact most of us do use those for heat.
Your temp parameters look fine.  I would watch carefully the temps (measure 45 mins after getting it in) to make sure that they don't rise to high (130's and up).
I used a halogen 60w at first, but the temps were over 130's so I replaced with a house hold bulb, 100w, and temps dropped to 120's.  If temps are in the 120's, just offer a bath daily for rehydration.
Janie.
