Beardie beard??

Hi,

My three year old male has had for the last four days a small partial black beard.
Not puffed, just black in coloration.  This is constant, just a small dime sized black beard in the middle of his beard.

I have never seen this before, has anyone else heard of this.  He just came out of his winter brumation and is just picking at his food so far.  He seems relaxed and suntanning allot since waking up.

Any thoughts on what it could be?
