hey guys...ive been considering solar panels to power my reptiles to make my electric bill manageable...i was wondering if anyone knew what exactly to look for for these things and if it helps ill b powering 7 heat lights (60-75 watts) and 7 UVB tube lights not sure of the wattage on those...but anyways any help wud b appreciated

when we move im doing solar panels for my reptiles...

hobby lobby has some solar panels, but youd need alot. I dont know where you would buy them from.

Wire your panels to a bank of car batteries and make sure you have a good inverter. With the batteries you'll have a ready supply of power even when it's overcast, raining, or snowing because you'll be storing the power. I'll see if I can get my son to come online when he has some time, and post his plans for you. He's military and deployed so it might take him a while though. My son designed the system that my brother is using (my brother lives 3 miles away from the power grid) to power his 2 bedroom home.

I want to build (some year) a geodesic dome that is totally off the grid, water and electric.  I already have the house plans, but I had yet to draw in the electrical schematics.

This is from Harbor Freight... I have been looking at doing this for quite some time, but I dont know how many I would need to run all I want, AND is it really worth the initial cost???

i think they r worth it...they pay for themselves really...not to mention ive found them cheaper at other places for higher wattages...it just takes some searchin

I know next to nothing about it all, but my boyfriend knows tons. He has all these plans to use them. Once he gets home, I'll see about him getting on here and sharing his knowledge.
