hey folks got a question.  My state, NC, does not have any statutes or regulations concerning the owning and breeding of exotic reptiles.  Now with that said, i wasnt sure if there are any licenses or permits that i need to get if i choose to sell baby beardies at a reptile expo.  If anyone knows the answer to that it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

I don't know of any place that would give out a license.  Basically anyone who has a male and a female can breed them so I wouldn't think that it's something that can be regulated.  I would wait for someone else to answer though.

i dont think a breeders license is required in order to sell at a reptile expo but i could be wrong...i would contact the people who hold the reptile shows and ask because each state is different

Gila Productions doesn't require that you have a license, dba, or any type of permit providing you do not house hots or animals of extreme size (very large retics).  That's regulated by the state.  The state of NC doesn't require a license for the breeding or sale of exotics either.
The show it's self is authorized to request a certification of health from the local vet, but it's not common.  I think that's mostly for animals prone to salmonella.
The email address for contact is on the site.

i would wait atleast 2 years before you breed and research as much about beardies in general and then research breeding them as well...this forum is a great place to start on getting great up to date information...also breeding can be extremely expensive costing you close to $1000 or more

Don't ever take licensing for granted. Each  state does it's own thing and gives their county's, municipality's, and boros the right to license (tax} It's just another way to suck money from people. Always check![Thia applies to any thing you sell, you mite need a vender's license.
