Wow thanks for the reality check Tom this is a very good post. Also this is the REASON why I only breed one dragon each year lol. I have a question I never go to sell dragons at Expos but i was thinking of getting some table in our local expo but i'm not sure if i will earn some money to make up for the table that i'm going to rent. How many dragons do you usually sell when you go to an expo ?

at the last 2 expos I only sold 1 per show.
When you have people around you selling 1 month old poopers at 25 a pop. It doesnt matter what color or how healthy yours are.

You have to scope out a show before you sell at it.  See what people normally bring, what prices are normally posted, and what advertisement they use.  In toms case he had people wholesaling hatchlings.  He got screwed cause no one knew his were much better.

Post up signs like  "well established sub-adults" or "collector quality" or "high color bloodline" something like that.  Make your table attractive and showy itll draw people in.
Tom get a model to hold a baby for you.  She needs bigguns.  put her in a bikini and just have her stand there and hold a beardie.  You will sell a few lol.

I can field that question, with 3 females we have 250 eggs last winter.  When the eggs start hatching it can be overwhelming at times.4-6 thousand crix and 1k supers a week, just to keep everyone healthy, to say nothing of the UVB bulbs, electricity, caging, roach colony, and shipping supplies, lol.  I am so relieved to have only a few dozen babies at the moment.  Quality has suffered in most visible ways this summer, it's very sad to see.  Time will show the economy has a way of shaking out the lower end of any industry.

Thanks Tom for starting this discussion on this site.
