Xena was showing signs of laying the past few days and I've been putting her in her laybox.  Today while I was at work my dad put her in her laybox and she started digging.  She had finished burying her eggs when I got home.  So I gave her a bath and while she was in it she got in the pooping position.  Nothing came out so I took her out of the bath and put her on a towel where she proceeded to lay an infertile egg.

I dug up the laybox to see if there were any eggs there and I counted 34.  So I figured that plus the one she laid after was it.  I offered her roaches but she didn't want any and I put her in her enclosure where she proceeded to lay another egg.  I decided to give her a bath just in case there were anymore and in the bath she laid another egg.  She was up to 37 eggs so I was sure she was finished.  But after I put her back in her enclosure again she laid another 2 eggs.  She perked up a little and ate some food and seemed fine.  No more distress and back to normal although a little tired.

39 eggs in total and 20 looked fertilized and 19 were infertile.  And it's been too short a time from her last clutch (she did do that once last year)/

Is there anything more I could do for her other than pampering her?

Xena is doing well.  Usually by now she has upped her eating because she's working on another clutch but so far she's eating around the same amount as Kinky.  I'm really really hoping that means she's done laying and if that's true she's never ever having some play time with Kinky because I don't want to risk the non stop laying again.

I want to keep my girl happy and healthy.

She's doing great.  Still no signs of her laying another clutch which I'm relieved about, my little girl didn't know when to quit.

I have recently got hooked up with Great Lakes Hornworms to fatten up my breeding females and I'll tell you it works great.  They get lots of calcium and hydration form each full size worm.  I always thought they were pricey, but feeding a gravid female dusted crickets can be just as expensive.
