Stubby passed away this morning. We found out that his problems were compounded with a vitamin A definciency. When he stopped eating, he wasnt getting his veggies at all. The force feeding just wasnt enough. Along with the slush we prepared for him, we were adding extra vitamin A. His eyes got a little better, and he seemed to be improving slightly. But he was too far gone. The last couple of days were worse, and he was vomiting up the slush. I knew last night his time was near, and we actually had a vet appt today to have him put down. We held him close and said our goodbyes. He must have died at some time early this morning. I hope he knew we loved him...

As far as we know, he was over 4 at the time of death, but we were getting our info on his age from the guy at the reptile show we got Stubby from, and that guy was just guessing. I would like to think we gave him a good home, but he was only with us, awake, for a couple of short months. The rest of the time he was in partial brummation, and then all these health problems started. He was a great little guy and we will miss him. i want to offer a sincere thank you to all of you - from the comments on his pics when we first got him, from the help with the set up questions, to all the info at the end. This is an invaluable place, and one I felt secure coming to with questions. Thank you all again, and I wish had a better update. Its a sad day... Sad
