can someone help me i have a 13 wk old bearded dragon i have had it for about 3 wks now . and it will not eat ive tryed crickets and waxworms and veggies it started eating after a couple of days of being home then now it wont eat. i moved it from one place in the front room to a nother place yesterday. in the hot end the temp is around 105 d and in he colder end it is about 85 d . i have a heat lamp and a uv lamp they are both on for 12 hours a day and turned of at night the temp does not drop below 60 d in the night and was told that would be fine. can some one tell me if im doing any thing wrong many thanks .

Is the 105 on the basking surface or air temp? What type of thermometer are you using? What brand, rating, and style is the UVB light? How close to it can the dragon get? Temps and UVB both affect appetite.
  thanks for the reply:  the 105 is the basking temp the thermometer is a t- rex one. notsure of the rating the uvb light is twisty one he can get to 4 to 5 inches from the uv light but tends to sit about 7 / 8 inchies from it ..

you'll need to replace the UVB Coil with a UVB Tube. UVB Coils are actually harmful to the beardies eyes and don't emit enough UVB.

reptiSun 10.0 is the most recommended UVB tube and has been the most tested. it will emit the proper amount of UVB, which will help with your dragons appetite.

reptiSun 10.0 is the most recommended UVB tube and has been the most tested. it will emit the proper amount of UVB, which will help with your dragons appetite.


many thanks for the info: would a compact reptiSun 10.0 be ok and what watt should i use. thanks
