hey again, i just noticed that my beardie who is about 3 months old has what looks like blood in his left eye. it is kind of like pooling at the bottom part of his eye... i only just noticed it, but am kind of worried... is there anything i can do, or do i just have to wait? is it one of those things that will just go away with time, or does it need a vet visit? he doesn't seem to worry about it at all, he can still see fine, and doesn't seem bothered by it at all...

A vet visit would be extremely important, anything accumulating in the eye is a safe assumption that something is wrong.

thanks for the replies... i actually just noticed when i came home that the eye seems to have a lot less blood in it than when i first saw it, and that was only yesterday... he seems to have no problem with it, he still eats and seems normal, so i will keep a close watch on him and if it gets worse, or doesn't get better, i think a vet visist may be good, just in case it is something really bad... thanks again

was he shedding his head? and possibly scrapped to try to get the shed off? I have heard of that before... but a vet would be nice.

actually yes he is in the middle of a shed, and i saw him scratch his head quite a lot, i have given him heaps of baths to help but i still see him occassionally scratching his head... so maybe that was it? i thought he may have run into something and somehow bumped his head a little too hard or something, but that sounds much more believable... thanks

if it is that he cut his eye with his claw then you need to go to the vet to rule out the possibility of infection. and the vet could determine if that was truly the cause.
another possibility is some type of head trauma which could have caused it. you need to take him into the vet asap so that he can determine this. if it is head trauma he may die without proper care and if it is he cut his eye deeply enough for it to bleed than he could end up getting a serious infection and loosing the eye or dying. the vet will be able to determine what it is and what care is needed. get him to a vet asap wether it looks to be getting smaller or better or whatever. there could still be something wrong.
