The wife and I were in the pet store yesterday getting a new tank for one of our cresteds when we saw what the store was calling a Western Tree Agama. She fell in love with its bright green colors, needless to say that we ended up with a new pet. I did do some looking on line for a care sheet specific to this guy but it seems difficult to find. I would have to think that he is at least semi arboreal and would enjoy climbing a bit. I'm basing his environment on general Agama information that I have heard from various sources I've found on the web.
50%Rh
75-85*F with a basking temp of around 110*F
UV lighting I am keeping the same as the dragons
Everything that I hear these guys are almost strictly cricket eaters, but I still wonder if there is any vegetation that they like/need.
If anyone has any experience with these animals It would be much appreciated. I will post pics later on this evening.

Kind of a side note. Bowser is cool to watch eat. He is very different than the other herps that I have. So far, it seems he is a passive feeder; he sits very still upsidedown on his rock until a cricket passes by and then he gobbles them up.

I'm still going to post pics this evening after work (I'm done soon  Grin), but I did find this link to a picture of almost exactly what he looks like (with slight variance in green, Bowser is a bit darker on his back). Im confident enough that this IS the same genus as what he is.

Any help, as always, is much appreciated.

I forgot the better camera with the better pics at work so I had to make due with the still setting on my video camera... It didn't like the screen, but they should be good enough for now. He looks a bit on the thin side, but I'm used to the gluttons, err... dragons. Wife says he ate about 10 crix this morning. I put fewer than that in and left the room a while ago; I'm yet to see if he ate them or not. He's only about 26 hrs into his new home, so I guess it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't this evening eat.

Here are the pics:

I'm positive its not just an odd beardie. This was a wild caught animal from the western part of Africa. I was told it was a tree agama. I just want this confirmed by someone, and a care sheet from somewhere. The only place I've even seen a picture of one was on that link farther up the post and I couldn't understand the page. Even at that, I don't think that it was a care sheet, lol.

He has only been his new home for less than two days, so I'm still learning his behavior. So far it seems that he is an ambush eater, sitting very still until the food comes to him. The crix, as far as I can tell, don't even see him because he sits so still; he must look like moss to the crix also, haha. On the other hand, he is LOTS faster than my dragons (fatties Cheesy). It also seem like he will tame down over time. One of the couple of times I did handled him he was threatening with his mouth open while holding him yet I was still able to remove all pressure (very little to begin with) I was using to hold him still and he just sat there and kept threatening, lol. I want to set up a larger Viv in the near future for him. Every time I look in the tank he is in a different spot (with exception to his basking rock) so I think he would enjoy a 50+ set up, who knows, If all goes well I might try to breed, although I can't even find this exact animal on the web anywhere, lol; the pet shop did have 2 females and one more male. The guy that I got them from said that his guy goes to western Africa once or twice a year and hand picks his herps.

Still looking for help identifying EXACTLY what he is. Those foreign web sites don't help!  Embarrassed
