We are going to make Tripod a new basking spot.  The one he has now is like a wooden tree we bought at a pet store and there is a crack that the crickets like to hide in.  Can we use pavers from a home store and build up?  If anybody has done this could you post pictures please.  Tripod is missing a front leg so we are looking to make something easy for him to climb.  Thanks

You can fill the crack in with a hot glue gun and keep the same basking spot,

I use bricks and tile for my basking spot and just stack it like steps.  It is very easy and inexpensive.

I have used hot glue for years without problem. Wood filler sounds like a good idea as well

Calking would work too once it is fully cured.

feed the crickets in a separate smaller place so there is no worries.  I have put some quartz rocks from the yard (after putting them through the dishwasher)  They have really smooth parts and uneven places so climbing and basking are easy. Grin
