Timba and Yoshi have blackish streaks underneath their chins..and it sortof looks like they go blacker if they are uncomfortable or get scared. Does this black eventually become a solid black underneath? When does it go totally black? Is it always a sign that they're scared or trying to be aggressive?
Thanks everyone!

tks. They don't go past his chin. Their bellies are very patterned, but it's not streaks. I guess that's a good thing.  Tks.

the stomach should be white (in a perfect world) lol
the paterns on their bellies indicate stress as do the lines on their beards it is all connected.  has anything changed recently in the setup or did you just recently get the dragon?

Hmmm. Their bellies definitely aren't white. You can see the pattern in my profile pic..although not well. They don't look  like streaks though..but diamond shapes that got squished. Yoshi, our skittish dragon does have the streaks going down her neck..but she is super skittish still and hisses etc. We're working with her to create as calm an environment as possible and even put newspaper all around the cage which has helped her feel closed in and secure (so it seems). She's not seeing her own reflection anymore at least. Timba is very calm, hardly any streaks on his chin, but a very patterned belly. We've had them both about 2 months.

They don't always look like 'streaks'. They are commonly oval'ish patterns on their bellies, sometimes having streaks connecting the pattern together. Sorry if I am a little behind here, but are these two housed together? Can they see each other if they are not? What are your temps and how are you measuring them? Their light/dark cycle? This will help us get a start on why they have those streaks. Some will lead you to believe that it can be 'normal' on some dragons, but the likelyhood of it being on both is very unlikely and more likely to be something going on in the environment. Possibly even the room they are in.

Hi. They are separated, from the 2nd week we had them. They cannot see each other. Yoshi has newspaper around her glass enclosure as well for now as she seemed very stressed about seeing her reflection in the glass..pacing..bumping the glass etc. She seems a lot calmer being more closed in. They are separated by a white shelf and are side by side so they cannot see each other at all.  We had them in separate rooms, but now they are in the same room so there's the possibility they can 'smell' each other. We wash our hands between handling them as well so that they don't sense each other as much on our hands.
As well, moving Timba from the first room to be in the same room as Yoshi may have caused her some relocation stress. Her 'beard streeks' are very soft and hardly every prominent, unless she's having a bath or something she clearly does not like. I'll post some pics when I get my camera charged. Timba does seem to be adjusting very well, and Yoshi is starting to hiss less and we make sure each time we take her out, that she is very secure, and we let her become calm, and slow her breathing for about 1/2 hour before we put her back so that each experience isn't traumatic. Seems to be helping.

I fogot, we have a probe thermometer and their temps on the basking spot are between 46.5 and 48. They have a lot of variety of rocks and logs so they can choose the warmest or cooler temps and they seem to go to the basking spot after eating, and hang out on the logs the rest of the time.

Sounds like you are doing just fine with the kids !  It took Gem almost 3 months to get used to us and his temp home (perm in the works) !  So keep the faith and soon those streaks will disappear !

Thanks! I did notice that they are much pailer, even the ones on their belly, when they're really calm.  Tks a lot.
