Hi, I'm new to this forum. I got my BD Zeppo 3 weeks ago and she has only pooped in her viv twice in the 3 weeks. She poops every day sometimes twice a day but only when I let her out of the viv.  Roll Eyes Has she trained herself to not poop in her little house?  lol

not so sure if they trained not to poop outside but my lil guys both poop in a certain corner of their cage so I would imagine they can and do train themselves to poop in certain spots. Though I'm sure some of the more experienced peeps on these forums can add to this.

My dragons started also only pooping on one side of the viv..practically the same spot every day. We left a space on one side (it's a big viv for each of them) that is just flat with newspaper and no rocks or anything. They like that open space and poop there. They also almost always poop when they have a very warm shallow bath.  Kinda gross,, but it washes down the drain or you can get it out with paper towel.  If they're little, they pry shouldn't be running around yet (as they can get cold, fall or get lost or scared). I kept ours just in our hands or on our legs until they'd been with us a few months. Even now, Timba has limited 'walkabout' priveledges when we can watch her..but she usually ends up running to a corner and doesn't seem to enjoy it much. She'd much rather be held or pet (as far as we can tell). Good luck!

maybe your new beardie really hates the smell of his own poop and holds it until he absolutely cant hold it any more.

but on a serious note the do adapt to a reutine.  that is probably what has happened here.

oh well, it isnt really any hassle, I let her out twice a day and she will poop on some kitchen paper. lol. I would rather let her out of her viv to poop than have her try to hold it in too long. And i dont have a messy viv every day yay!!  Cheesy

My Slither has trained herself (just found out he was a she tonite) to only poop in the bath. So I give a bath every morning. When she poops, the bath is done. Sometimes, if she is shedding or needs a longer bath, I clean up the mess and give a second soak. I dump the bath water out in the back yard. - Oh I give a bath in a rubbermaid tote.

As Lizzy got older she started pooping less often. She how ever pooped everytime I soaked her. It's now to the point that she hardly ever poops in the Viv (maybe 2-3 times in the last 2 years) and waits for her soak to do her business. It works great in keeping her Viv clean. Smiley
