hi everyone i was wondering i read a post on the site and it said some one got a uvb light fixture from walmart for $10
i have a 24" blacklight fixture from there for $10 its black and plastic can i use it for a reptisun 10.0 uvb bulb for my beardie?
or will it get to hot?Huh
heres the specs on it:
lights of america model 7020
120v, 60hz, 17w 24 inches
plz let me know if its ok thanx

Yes, you can use that.  Just watch for any melting, not that I think there will be any at all, and replace if needed.  I have several of those models myself, and haven't ever had issues !

You want to make sure the wattage is the same for the fixture and bulb.  The transformer in your blacklite fixture wont be producing quite enough current, which could effect the UV output. The bulb is 18w and the fixture is 17w which probably won't make that much difference.   The ONLY way to tell, would be to compare it to a properly fit fixture with a UV light meter. 

To be safe, I would purchase another fixture. I get my fixtures from home depot. They have all sizes with the exact output I need.  I got for a 4' fixture that holds two lights, for about $8. 

If the cost is an issue, you may be OK as long as the fixture accepts T12 lights, the size of the reptisun. But if I were you, I would buy another fixture.

Very soon I believe reptisun 10's will be made in T8 size.
