if applying to wood, use tile mastic (available at any hardware home improvement). If applying to glass use silicone, the aquarium type is a bit more expensive but non-toxic(also usually available at hardware improvement). Basically just use either as glue and stick the tiles down. There really is no need to get all that technical. when your glue has set mix up some SANDED grout to the consistency of peanut butterr and push into all the cracks and crevices, let set for a couple of minutes and wipe off the excess with a damp sponge, shaping the grout as you go and rinsing the sponge often. Once you have it shaped the way you like clean off the tile the best you can let dry for about 30mins and clean again rinsing the sponge after each swipe. Let dry about an hour and do it again. You will not get all the haze off at point but get off what you can. Wait until the next day and use a rag to buff off the haze. After a couple of days seal the grout with a basic grout sealer. For a good look i like to break the tiles and arrainge the pieces to get rid of the grid pattern. Just be sure to shape your grout so you don't leave any sharp edges hanging out, you can also smooth the edges with a brick or on the sidewalk.

and also i guess silicone is out the question right?Huh
also how do i cut them i heard you need a "wet saw" with a diamond blade? i dont have one of these and home depot said its $100 a day to rent one
is there any other way?

Naw,  Using a glass cutter, score deeply along the line, than gently tap with a hammer against a straight edge.
That's what me and Allen did !

That's good to know about Lowes though.  I just bought tile from there this weekend..but silly me measured the outside of the tank, instead of the inside.. And everybody I asked doesn't have the tools to cut ceramic.  So hopefully my local Lowes will cut it. Yay

If yer looking for straight cuts and got a lil extra money, Lowes also sells a 13" ceramic tile cutter for $18, works really well. is prolly in the sections close to the actual tiles themselves.
