Help! Sydney's fecal came back clean and she still wont eat. She is about 18 months old, give or take a few. We thought she might be going down for brumation or atleast partial brumation last fall, she was treated for pinworms then. Since then she hasnt eaten on her own and has lost 20grams. At the vet the other day she weighed 322grams. She just came to live with me a few days ago. I know it takes some time to adjust but she hasnt eaten since oct-nov of last year. The vet gave me an appetite stimulant that also works as an anti-biotic, i dont have the name right now... but i give that to get once a day and she gets a critical care and carnivore care mix everyday. I offer her fresh greens everyday, I've been trying different things to attract her to them, organic squash and blueberry babyfood, and fresh strawberries. She used to eat roaches but i've been offering crickets now, she acknowledges them but isnt interested. She has pooped once a day for the last three days and it looks normal, solid with urate in a little liquid. I've had her for 4 or 5 days. She is in a crossfire enclosure with grouted tile, a few peices of driftwood, half of a log, a fake plant. She's been getting a bath everyday since she came to live with me. Basking temp is 117, it maxes out at 121 right before lights out. Her cool side is 75. She has a mega-ray MVB on a 14/10 schedule bought in October along with a 40 watt floodlight and a flouresent for brightness. Her basking spot is about 12 inches away from the light. I dont know what else it could be. Any thoughts?

Your husbandry sounds right on and if she is pooping she must be eating something. Sounds to me like she just needs some time to settle into her new home. Also you may want to go back to the roaches rather than the crickets , my dragons would not even look at crickets after they got a taste for roaches. Also may try offering her a worm to get her going, silk  worms, horned worms or Pheonix worms would be good choices to get her going again.

Yeah, i feed her the critical care from a syringe a few times a day. How long does burmation usually last? Shes much more energetic now but could it be a possibility she hasnt fully came out of it yet? She never went to sleep, just went off food and was very lazy over the winter. Her old owner offered roaches throughout the months and she did the same thing. He is selling the roaches now. I've always wanted to try silkworms... maybe i'll order some of those. Can you think of anything that could be medically wrong with her? I've thought about taking her back to teh vet for more diagnostics but i'm not sure what they would look for.

OK i'll try that... but might there be somehting medically wrong with her that you can think of? Any common ailments I should talk with my vet about? I dont have much faith in this vet and this is the second one syd has seen.

I just put my BD in a new viv in the same room and actually better lighting. He wont eat a whole lot if at all. It's normal even though everything is the same just the viv is in a different house it looks different outside the viv. Temp in new house a little different and he will know. Good luck, I hope he/she feels better soon.
