I believe i remember reading on here that it is the "urine" part of their stool. But dont quote me as I could be wrong lol. Yeah my beardies poop smell is horrendous as well lol. I hold my breath while cleaning!  Tongue

yes the white is the urates/urine and maggs, if ur beardies poop is horrendous then i suggest getting a fecal done...usually (not always tho) its a sign of parasites...if u catch it early its easier to treat

the white is Urate, which is urine.  It shouldn't be hard as a rock or smelly either, at least not room clearing smelly.  Keep up with the hydration, and try to get a sample so a vet can run a fecal exam .   Really smelly, room clearing, usually means parasites, but since you just got this little one, wait until it is acclimated before taking in a sample.  Right now it would show high on Coccidia, which is naturally occurring in dragons, and stressful situations will drive that count up.
You should be seeing a small amount of white urate, to a large amount of green/black poo.  If it has a gel like casing, that means you have hydrated the dragon well.  If it is hard, head back to the bath !
Hope this helps out !

Its not room clearing. Like I cant smell it outside of the viv. But if I go in there and stick my face close, its pretty stinky!! lol.

You can use non scented baby wipes to clean the poo from the viv, and it smells a whole lot nicer !

hi one of my dragons has the white chalk like stuff  in his poop i thought it was normal so i didnt take much notice, the other dragons dont have this which is normal
Re: beardie poop whats the white in it?? By: zebrajanie Date: July 14, 2009, 04:20:55 PM
Piper, it is normal for white chalk like stuff, just as long as it isn't rock hard.  That is the pee or urates.  Your other dragons don't have this ?  Something is wrong then.  It should be almost equal amounts of both .

Glad i found this. I've only had Draco for 2 days & he is only 5 weeks old. but he managed to do a few poo's already. One had this white/creamy stuff in it. But it's not hard & it doesn't smell that bad.
So far it seems he's ok, bowel wise.  Grin

interesting.
i found buddhas urates to be quite hard. im trying to locate a good vet in my area (im new to garner , NC) , but i wasnt aware that it should not be hard. is there a common cause for this?
